We take care as a nursery to enrich learning through first hand experiences. Educational visits, visitors and entry points make subjects become more vibrant and to life. Learning should be a memorable experience which deepens at every opportunity. We believe that the environment and activities should be varied to meet the needs of all children with learning styles. Our inside learning is as powerful as our outdoor learning and mirrors all expectations.
We monitor and assess every stage of learning to make sure that children are given opportunities to close gaps of learning and supported when required. Positive challenge is an integral part of our learning; we strive to move forward at each stage with unlimited learning as our goal.
All achievements of every child is valued and celebrated throughout the year in both personal success and academic success. Parents play a great part of our learning environment and are informed regularly of progress, through learning afternoons, progress meetings, parent’s evenings, annual reports and informal meetings.
We follow Montessori principles but cover the Early Years Curriculum.
Children are exposed to a wide range of learning opportunities in the early years. These should be developmentally appropriate as early exposure can do more harm than good.
In the early years, there is a focus on seven areas of learning:
- Communication and language.
- Physical development.
- Personal, social and emotional development.
- Understanding the world.
- Expressive arts and design.
Parents can help with this learning too.
